When drain stoppages persist, a newer technology of video inspection can be used. We can view this journey on a video screen and determine if there are problems with the line. If an issue is found, we can use our line locating sonar equipment to determine the location of the problem. This often allows a spot repair rather than a replacement of the sewer line saving you thousands in repair costs!! Whatever the required repair may be, we can take care of it for you. Using a fiber optic camera attached to a waterproof push rod we can send the camera down the sewer line from the house out to the city sewer.
Occasional main sewer stoppages are common. However, when your sewer is slow or stopped on a more consistent basis there may be problems that need to be corrected. It takes a professional plumber with experience to ba able to pinpoint exactly where the problem is, the first time.
The most common issue with main sewers and drains is root infiltration. Other causes can be a broken cracked or offset drain pipe damaged by shifting soil or settling. Sewer pipes and drain pipes are installed in sections and sometimes soil conditions allow or create a “belly” in a section of pipe where the pipe has sunk and tends to collect debris and build up to the point of a stoppage. The pipe section can also be raised by soil conditions or tree roots lifting the pipe, again leading to stoppages.
